This is a great novel, one that could well be added to the reading list or school library collection for senior students. You can join the CBC Book Club for a month-long discussion of The Book of Negroes.

Formerly a writer for The Globe and Mail and last year's winner of the Commonwealth Writer's Prize for this book, Lawrence Hill is one of three children of well-respected Dr Daniel G.
