at Kitsilano Secondary School on September 19, 2007
On a sunny September afternoon at Kitsilano Secondary School, another sports legend was created. This time, it was not the Canadiens’ hockey sweater that young Roch Carrier had so desired, nor was it the Toronto Maple Leafs one that Mr Eaton had mistakenly sent him. Instead, in thanks for the wonderful talk about what compels the writing process, the students of Kitsilano awarded M Carrier the much-prized Kitsilano Blue Demons’ team shirt with his name emblazoned on the back. Seen here with M Carrier are student presenters and Ms Bombino, event organizer and teacher-librarian at the school. M Carrier had begun by asking the students to provide for him an afternoon he would remember. It would seem they did! By all accounts, the afternoon will be one that all who attended will recall for its warmth, humour, and inspiration.
